E.T. Hatch Home in Taylor, Arizona

Audio Narration

Narrated history of the E.T. Hatch Home

The E.T. Hatch Home is associated with Ezra Taft Hatch (1864–1928), a prominent pioneer and rancher in Taylor. Ezra married Maria Standifird in 1891, connecting two of Taylor’s most important pioneer families — the Hatches and the Standiferds. The couple had twelve children, all born in Taylor between 1892 and 1913.

Ezra Taft Hatch was a member of the Navajo County Board of Supervisors and became one of the most successful ranchers in Arizona during the early statehood years. The Hatch family played a central role in Taylor’s development — the Jane Hatch Camp (Pioneer Museum) was named for a Hatch family matriarch, and Reed and Burt Hatch later operated the Hatch Bros. General Store from 1945 until the early 1980s.
