Audio Narration

Narrated history of the Main Street Church

The Main Street Chapel is one of the oldest LDS chapels in Snowflake and is listed on the National Historic Registry. The church building sits at the heart of the town’s grid layout, reflecting the centrality of religious life in the community’s founding.

The earliest Snowflake settlers initially held church meetings in the Stinson adobe buildings. As the community grew, purpose-built religious structures were constructed. The Main Street Church, with the Victorian-style homes and lampposts that line the surrounding streets, creates a cohesive historic streetscape that transports visitors back to the pioneer era.
